Molecular distillation is a specialized refining process that removes environmental contaminants such as PCBs dioxins and heavy metals, including mercury, from the fish oil and makes it pure and safe for human consumption.
Epidemiologic and clinical trials have shown that Omega-3 fatty acids reduce the incidence of cardiovascular disorders. Furthermore, research has shown that Omega-3 and Omega-6 fats are both essential for human health. Unfortunately, the typical American consumes far too many Omega-6 fats in their diet while consuming very low levels of Omega-3. The ideal ratio of Omega-6 to Omega-3 fats is 1:1. Today, many people have a ratio substantially out of balance (10 or 20:1) that contributes to poor health. Omega-3 supplements help bring this important healthy ratio back into balance.
Each Life Essentials® Omega-3 Fish Oil softgel contains 1000 mg of molecularly distilled fish oil, providing 180 mg of EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and 120 mg of DHA (docosahexaenoic acid).
